Lockdown Update

26th November 2020

The remaining productions in our Autumn season – the Herts Jazz gigs, On Behalf of a Madman, A Room of One’s Own, Trestle, and Express G&S – have been rescheduled for early 2021. The new dates are available here. Individual ticketholders will be contacted directly – there is no need to get in touch with us.

With St Albans being placed in Tier 2 after the second lockdown, we are delighted that Peter Pan will be able to open as scheduled on 11th December. We already had contingency arrangements in place to enable us to continue to create the show in the event of another lockdown and these have been implemented during the rehearsal period. We’ve had record breaking ticket sales since the show was announced – the box office will remain open so do book now if you haven’t done so already.

This year has been incredibly challenging for everyone – especially those of us working in the entertainment industry. We are so grateful for the amazing and truly humbling support we’ve received from our loyal audiences and supporters which has enabled us to keep making innovative, imaginative and inspiring theatre. We can’t wait to welcome you back to a performance soon.

The home of live theatre

In the heart of St Albans

What We Do

We produce a year round programme of innovative, imaginative, inspiring theatre. We focus on reimagined classics and contemporary plays up close, from OVO, our in house company, and associate companies.

Our weekly jazz club is produced by Herts Jazz, and our monthly folk nights are curated by St Albans Folk. We also present dance, opera, chamber music, songs from the shows and everything in between.

We offer a variety of dance, music and theatre classes for children. Our education programme is delivered with a range of local partners including Monkey Music, Rhythm Time and Tiny Ballerina.

The theatre is available for hire and – with its city centre location, excellent parking, well-equipped facilities and full disabled access – makes a fantastic venue for a wide range of meetings and events.
